Posted: Saturday October 25, 2008 4:12 AM BT
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will start operating flights to Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam on Friday and Sunday using Boeing 777-300 ER equipment effective October 26. In a two-class configuration, the Boeing 777-300ER will seat 425 passengers, 35 in Business Class and 390 in Economy class.
In KLM's configuration, the aircraft has been equipped to offer e-enabled services to support operational management and communication in the air and on the ground, and to expand the range of e-services for customers at a later stage, according to a KLM press statement.
KLM will operate the 777-300ER on Friday and Sunday on the route Amsterdam - Kilimanjaro - Dar e Salaam, and operate a Boeing 777-200 on the other days in the week (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday)

Within its range, the Boeing 777-300ER is the most efficient and climate and environmentally friendly aircraft.

In KLM's configuration, the aircraft has been equipped to offer e-enabled services to support operational management and communication in the air and on the ground, and to expand the range of e-services for customers at a later stage, according to a KLM press statement.

"The arrival of the Boeing 777-300ER fits in with KLM's policy to lead the market in innovation and is in line with the current growing demand in Tanzania' said Raymond Reedijk KLM Country Manager for Tanzania.

"It will boost customer appreciation, efficiency and flexibility in network control, lower unit costs, and will create sales opportunities for our valued agents and operators. Our continuous capacity growth in Kilimanjaro and Dar es Salaam is the best illustration of the faith KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has in Tanzania", adds the statement.

KLM's B777-300ER will feature new, more comfortable seats in both business and economy class, offering state-of-the-art interactive and personal audio/video-on-demand.
